This week is high school flashback week for me - music that touched me and changed me. First up: Java Jive. We sang a choral arrangement of The Manhattan Transfer’s version which changed my life because Manhattan Transfer changed my life. Their album, Vocalese, was on endless repeat throughout high school and college.

The irony is that I wouldn’t touch coffee if my life depended upon it until I was over 30…I still don’t drink coffee very often, even though at least now I appreciate a good mocha.

So, this morning, here is my tribute to Manhattan Transfer. The score is again from my grandfather’s collection of sheet music (as are all the songs chosen for this week). Thanks Grandpa!
