Morning Sing: May 27, 2020

The only piece of music I pulled from my grandfather’s collection from the 1950’s is Stranger in Paradise, from the 1953 Broadway musical Kismet, based on musical themes from the Russian composer Aleksandr Borodin. Winner of three 1954 Tony awards: Best Musical, Best Actor in a Musical – Alfred Drake, and Musical Conductor, the musical was also modified into a 1955 film and 1967 television version. This song has always spoken to the romantic in my soul. I love singing the sweeping line over all the chromatic harmonies in the accompaniment. I hope you find some music today that you just LOVE to sing!
